Where to Play Golf on Mauritius: Four Unforgettable Courses and Where to Stay Nearby

Golf in Mauritius is unlike anywhere else I’ve played. Of course the scenery is beautiful, but it’s the mix of high-quality courses, dramatic settings and that easygoing island feel that really sets it apart.

Whether you’re planning a full-on golf holiday or a few relaxed rounds in between beach time, there’s a course here for you. And if you want someone to take care of the details (tee times, transfers, where to stay, etc) I can help with that, too.

Arrive by boat, play in paradise.

If there’s one course that makes every golfer’s bucket list, it’s Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club on the east coast. You get there by boat, a short, scenic ride across the water, and from the moment you step onto the jetty, it feels like an adventure.

Designed by Bernhard Langer, the course winds through mangroves, past volcanic rock and over water. It’s technical in places, with tight fairways and some bold carries, especially the par-4 12th which plays towards a dramatic backdrop. There are multiple tee boxes, so it’s playable for a range of abilities, but it does reward precision.

Facilities are excellent: there’s a full practice area and the clubhouse has one of the best post-round views on the island.

Mountain views and lagoon breezes.

On the southwest coast, Paradis Golf Club is one of the most scenic spots you can play. Tucked between the Le Morne mountain and the lagoon, it’s the kind of course where you’ll pause mid-round just to soak it all in.

The front nine is more open and forgiving, ideal for settling into your rhythm. The back nine tightens up as it edges closer to the mountain. Hole 16 is a standout – a long par 5 with the peak rising behind the green.

It’s a very walkable course, with excellent facilities and a relaxed clubhouse. Morning tee times tend to offer calmer conditions before the coastal winds pick up.

Want to play more than one round?

Constance Belle Mare Plage on the east coast is the only place in Mauritius with two 18-hole courses: the Legend and the Links. The Legend is tighter and more technical, while the Links is more open with lovely elevation changes. Both have great practice facilities and are ideal if you want to stay in one place and mix things up.

Let’s plan your golf escape.
