Travel for good

We’ve weathered many storms over the years - from volcanic eruptions to 9/11, and the absolute standstill of the Covid years. Those experiences have only strengthened our belief that, when times are good, it matters to give back.

We’re proud to support a small number of charities that reflect the values close to our hearts, as well as the places and people that have shaped our travels.

Project Harar

Project Harar

We’ve supported Project Harar for over a decade, ever since its founder (a wonderful client and friend) invited us to contribute to their annual fundraising gala. Since then, we’ve helped raise funds through auction prizes including aurora hunting in Iceland, Michelin-star escapes in Spain and Arctic adventures in Svalbard. The charity supports children in Ethiopia with complex facial conditions, flying in surgeons and offering long-term care to those often stigmatised or excluded from their communities. Their work is transformative, not just physically but in the confidence and opportunities it gives to the children they support.

Noahs Ark Children’s Hospice

Noahs Ark Children’s Hospice

We first came across Noah’s Ark when we had our Muswell Hill shop, and have supported them ever since. Based in North London, the hospice offers vital paediatric palliative care to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, as well as support to the families who care for them. Their work ranges from at-home nursing and respite care to specialist therapies and family activities, helping families make the most of their time together. It’s a cause close to our co-founder Pauline’s heart, and we’re proud to continue supporting the team at Noah’s Ark.

Joy for Children Uganda

Joy for Children Uganda

After travelling to Uganda in 2018, our co-founder Kim was deeply moved by the extreme poverty she witnessed – and particularly by the challenges many young girls face simply trying to attend school. In rural communities, period poverty is still a major barrier to education, with taboos and lack of resources preventing girls from staying in school. We made a significant donation to support the charity’s campaign to provide sanitary products and education around menstruation. Joy for Children works to protect and empower children across Uganda, and we’re honoured to support their efforts.

The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre

The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre

Nightingale is a local charity close to our hearts, especially for our co-founder Nici, whose family & friends have long supported their work. In 2025, she and her mother took part in their annual 15km night walk to raise funds and awareness of their work, and Travelwise made a large donation in support. Based in Enfield, Nightingale Cancer Support offers practical and emotional care for people living with cancer and their families. Their work makes a real difference in people’s lives, offering compassionate support during the hardest of times.
