Split

Begin your journey in Split, a city where daily life flows through the walls of a Roman palace. At the heart of it all is Diocletian’s Palace, part archaeological wonder, part living city centre, filled with courtyards, temples, tiny bars and boutique shops tucked into ancient stone.

Spend your time wandering the narrow alleyways of the old town, watching locals play chess in the square or climbing the bell tower of Saint Domnius for sweeping views over the terracotta rooftops. Stroll along the Riva promenade with an ice cream in hand, or join a wine tasting to sample Dalmatian reds and local olive oils.

2 nights

For those looking to venture beyond the city, a half-day boat trip to the nearby Blue Lagoon offers a chance to swim and snorkel in clear waters, while history lovers may opt for a visit to the nearby ruins of Salona or the hilltop fortress of Klis.

Hvar

A short ferry ride brings you to Hvar, Croatia’s chicest island, where Venetian palaces, lavender fields and turquoise bays create the perfect balance of culture and coastal calm. Long known as a glamorous escape, Hvar also offers hidden pockets of authenticity for those who venture beyond the harbourfront.

Start by exploring Hvar Town’s elegant old centre, where cobbled streets spill out into sunny piazzas and boats bob in the marina. Visit the hilltop fortress for panoramic views across the Pakleni Islands, then unwind with a sunset drink in one of the town’s stylish seafront bars.

Take a day trip by boat to discover secret coves and quiet beaches around the Pakleni Islands, ideal for swimming, snorkelling or a leisurely picnic on board. Alternatively, head inland to visit a family-run winery or olive farm and taste the local produce in a more rural setting.

4 Nights

Other options include kayaking along the coast, taking a cooking class in a traditional village home, or visiting the nearby town of Stari Grad, one of Europe’s oldest settlements and a peaceful contrast to lively Hvar Town. Whether you want to explore or simply relax, Hvar makes it easy to do both beautifully.

Dubrovnik

Your journey ends in Dubrovnik: a city that needs little introduction. Encircled by medieval walls and lapped by the Adriatic, this UNESCO-listed gem blends old-world drama with relaxed coastal charm.

Begin with a walk along the ancient city walls, where panoramic views stretch over terracotta rooftops and out to sea. Explore the marble-paved streets of the old town, where every turn reveals a church, palace or hidden courtyard. Visit the Rector’s Palace, stroll through the Franciscan Monastery, and stop for a coffee or glass of wine at a quiet café tucked between the stones.

Take the cable car up Mount Srđ for a spectacular sunset, or escape the city for a swim and seafood lunch on nearby Lokrum Island. There’s also the option to join a private Game of Thrones tour if you’d like to see filming locations through a different lens.

3 Nights

With its blend of grandeur and warmth, Dubrovnik is a place to soak it all up, especially in the early mornings and late evenings, when the cruise ships depart and the city’s true atmosphere returns.
