Majorca

Laidback luxury on a Mallorcan estate with serious pedigree

Tucked away on the island’s peaceful northwest coast, Son Bunyola is Sir Richard Branson’s latest hospitality gem: a 1,300-acre private estate turned ultra-refined retreat. Surrounded by olive groves, citrus trees and sweeping views over the UNESCO-listed Tramuntana mountains, it offers a grown-up, thoroughly spoiling take on rural Balearic life.

Centred around a beautifully restored 16th-century manor house, the hotel features just 26 rooms and suites, each with their own character: exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and locally crafted ceramics. Many have sweeping sea or mountain views, and some even open onto private terraces for lazy morning coffees or sunset aperitifs.
