Grizzly encounters and off-grid comfort in the Canadian wilderness

Floating on a remote fjord on British Columbia’s wild west coast, Knight Inlet Lodge offers front-row access to one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife spectacles: grizzly bears in their natural habitat.

Reachable only by floatplane, the lodge feels wonderfully removed from everyday life – but inside, you’ll find the kind of considered comforts that make this a true soft landing after a day in the wild.

Kim Hart

Director

An expert in the ultra luxurious, Kim is your go-to for superyachts, exclusive-use villas and the kind of experiences that don’t appear on websites. She has an extensive understanding of the world’s finest hotels and a personal in-depth knowledge of Africa, Australia, New Zealand, USA & Canada, shaped around her own worldwide adventures. Kim also has a passion for the iconic wildlife viewing experiences both above and below the water.

Days here revolve around nature. Depending on the season, you can see orcas and dolphins offshore, or bald eagles soaring overhead. In quieter moments, there’s kayaking, forest walks, and fireside storytelling in the lounge. Knight Inlet Lodge manages to balance adventure with ease.

The lodge itself is cosy and low-key, with hearty meals and locally inspired wine pairings.

It’s an extraordinary way to see Canada’s wild side: immersive, authentic and surprisingly indulgent in all the right places.
